Porcelain Crowns

For a natural look and a healthier you, we never use mercury-based metal in our dentistry. Today’s porcelain inlays, onlays and composite resins create restorations that not only look natural but also are stronger than materials of the past.

We are learning that silver mercury or amalgam fillings can be harmful to both your body and your teeth. Mercury fillings have been linked to all kinds of health issues. Though some dentists refute these claims, they can’t argue with this: when you eat or drink anything that changes the temperature of your mouth, your metal fillings are not expanding or contracting with your teeth. This leaves gaps into which bacteria can creep and affect further decay. Bacteria can even enter your bloodstream and make you ill. Our practice will be happy to assist you in replacing older, failing amalgam restorations, and all new restorations will be completed without any mercury.

Inlays are made of strong, long-lasting and natural-looking materials, such as porcelain or composite resin. Onlays are used for large restorations, repairing inside the cusp and extending over one or more sides of the tooth. Both of these restorations are invisible in the smile and allow us to save much more of the healthy tooth.
